Sodiumbutyl xanthate
Application
It is primarily employed as a collector in the froth flotation process within the mining industry. It functions by selectively binding to the surfaces of valuable sulfide minerals, such as copper, lead, and zinc, making them hydrophobic. This key property enables the mineral particles to attach to air bubbles and be separated from the ore slurry, thereby facilitating the efficient recovery and concentration of these essential metals from their ores.
